The Lower Zambezi

The Lower Zambezi Valley is a great rift in the earth through which flows the mighty Zambezi River. The game here concentrates along the river and is plentiful – there are a particularly large number of elephants in this park along with expected lions, leopards, buffaloes, wild dog, basking hippos and plethora of bird life found along the riverbanks. The canoeing here in here in the smaller channels off the Zambezi is probably the best in Zambia and the sunsets from boat cruises over the escarpment are just stunning. This park is also a great location to try your hand or throw your experienced line to catch (and release) tiger fish.
