Leading the Charge for Eco-Travel: Recent Initiatives from Green Safaris
Green Safaris | October 10, 2024

At Green Safaris, our commitment to setting the standard for eco-travel in Africa and worldwide is a continuous journey that we embrace wholeheartedly. Central to our mission is the Green Safaris Conservation Foundation, which drives our efforts in conservation, community development, and sustainability. Today, we want to highlight three recent projects that showcase our dedication to making a positive impact.
Here are three recent projects we’d love to shine a light on:
A Cookbook for Conservation: From Farm to Table

We recently launched our first-ever cookbook, From Farm to Table. In it, readers will discover divine Green Safaris recipes, meaningful stories from each of our chefs, and how we’re changing dining in the tourism industry through sustainability and community. Anyone can order a copy by emailing conservation@greensafaris.com with their name and postal address. The cookbook is priced at 50 Euros, with an additional estimated 15 Euros for worldwide shipping. All proceeds support our vital conservation and community development projects in Zambia and Malawi.
Empowering Women In Conservation

Our commitment to conservation includes empowering women through the Zambian Carnivore Programme’s Women in Wildlife Conservation Training Programme (WIWC), which provides hands-on training and mentorship to aspiring female leaders in the field.
With support from our Green Safaris Conservation Foundation, we are funding the program and acquiring essential equipment, such as high-quality field cameras and laptops, to enhance training and monitoring capabilities for these future leaders.
Green for Gold: Running for a Cause

In September, our team of nine participated in the Kafue Wild 21 km half marathon, a sweaty yet successful weekend that combined fitness and conservation. “It was hard…but epic!” said our founder and managing director, Vincent Kouwenhoven, who ran alongside our dedicated guides and lodge managers.
This event supported the rangers protecting Zambia’s wildlife and showcased the breathtaking beauty of Kafue National Park, home to Ila Safari Lodge and Chisa Busanga Camp. As Gold Sponsors, we were thrilled to be part of such a meaningful experience that combined our passion for conservation with community engagement.
