After falling in love with the Busanga Plains, we built Chisa Busanga Camp to mimic its surrounds through beautiful architecture and environmentally conscious design.

Chisa is the Nyanja word for ‘birds nest’, and the rooms were inspired by the weaver bird nests that decorate the trees here. Sitting on a small tree-lined island, the camp uses only solar power as do the game drive vehicles used to explore the watery dambos beyond.

Chisa Busanga Camp celebrates the natural and cultural heritage of the Busanga Plains, a place that will leave an indelible imprint on your mind, as it has on ours.

the Best

Four-night stay following on from three nights at Green Safaris' sister lodge Ila. Fabulous doesn't do justice. Unique and wonderful accommodation. Intimate and magical experience. Food fantastic and that's from two people who are very easy going - simply a step up on almost anything experienced before (Ila aside). Final night surprise was a joy. Staff were again amazing. Everyone was welcoming, courteous and engaging. Absolute pleasure to meet you. Special mention to Chiesyo (hoping spelt that correctly). You are a star.

Wow, Wow, Wow!

YAn outstanding camp in an awesome location! What's not to love?! This camp is small and perfectly formed. The individual nests are impeccably designed to capture the stunning views over the plains but also the star filled sky in the evening, visible from a window just above the bed. Effortless stargazing! There are only four nests so it is perfect for a small group or family to stay and take the whole camp to themselves!

What Is Chisa Best For?

Romance

The romance of the Busanga Plains is a wild and marvellous thing: the rosy mist that rises in the mornings when the floods are still receding; the herds of elephants stirring it up as they walk across the plains; the prides of muddy lions catching their breath together. We are here to invite you into these moments, but the wilderness does most of the work.
Private Travel

Chisa Busanga Camp sits on a plain so wide it feels like you are perched inside the horizon, yet we only have four Nest rooms available. This makes Chisa the ideal private escape. Book out the entire camp and bring your flock to roost amongst the wildlife for a little while.
