A Wild Wellness Weekend at Ila

Robyn Simpson | April 23, 2024

Ila Safari Lodge, Green Safaris’ first-ever property, is certainly a special place to visit. It’s where you should go to unwind amid the wild and experience incredible game viewing while basking in luxury. This adventure is a reprieve for the soul and we’re honing in on this even further by hosting a Kafue Wellness Weekend this May.

Everything You Need To Know:

Ila is located a quick 3.5-hour drive from Lusaka, making this mindful journey a fabulous offering for locals and international guests alike. Use this time to start settling your soul, taking in the breathtaking landscape as you go.

Keep your eyes peeled for the mighty Kafue River. It’s along the banks that Ila is found, and where you’re invited to bend, stretch, breathe and connect.

Our weekend itinerary is centred around deep relaxation, self-discovery and inner peace. Expect to participate in the ancient practices of singing bowl therapy, sound healing, and meditation. Reiki and yoga are also integral.

All sessions will be conducted by qualified industry experts. Meet Mariia, certified in Nepalese sound healing, reiki and emotion code. Ruth is your yoga guru and is an RYS 500-hour certified yoga teacher who has also been practising alternative medicine for two decades.

The Details, You Ask?

Our Kafue Wellness Weekend will take place from the 24th to the 26th of May 2024 at Ila Safari Lodge in Kafue National Park. You also have the option of extending your stay by an extra night for a reduced rate.

Here’s What You’re In For:

Arrive mid-afternoon on Friday, the 24th of May. Settle in then enjoy a 60-minute opening circle and yoga flow session, followed by sound healing (approximately 90 minutes in total). Conclude day one with sundowners at our new boma area and a delicious dinner.

On Saturday the 25th of May, you’ll start the day with early morning yoga and meditation, followed by a hearty breakfast from our live cooking station. Min-morning calls for a 60-minute sound healing session, followed by lunch. Then it’s time to relax (even more). We recommend booking an extra treatment at our river-centric spa. In the afternoon, there will be another yoga and meditation session followed by a sunset cruise on the Kafue River.

Enjoy your last day, Sunday the 26th of May, with early morning yoga and meditation and a closing circle. Enjoy your final breakfast before departing at noon. Or choose to stay that additional night.

There’s More:

There are an array of additions to add to this already wonderful weekend. You have the option to schedule private therapy sessions with our weekend instructors and indulge in a treatment at our Ila Safari Lodge Sampan Spa.

The Nitty Gritty:

Accommodation at Ila, meals, non-premium drinks, sunset drinks and a boat cruise are all included. As are four yoga and meditation sessions, Tibetan sound healing sessions, and one long and one sort group healing session.

Excluded in this offering are premium drinks, flights and travel costs, activities not listed above, laundry and other incidentals, and park fees.
