When Green Safaris opened its first camp, the plan was simple: build something extraordinary in the bush, and do it in a way that gives more back than it takes. A decade later, that plan has grown into eight properties across Zambia and Malawi, a conservation foundation, the world’s first electric dhow on the Zambezi, and a team of people who genuinely love what they do.
To mark ten years, we wanted to do something a little different. Not a standard competition. Not a tag-and-repost giveaway. Something that actually takes you somewhere.
So we built a trail.
What is Follow the Trail?
Follow the Trail is a month-long digital scavenger hunt built around four of our properties and the stories that make them extraordinary. Each week, after we celebrate our 10th Anniversary, we will post a cryptic clue on Instagram and Facebook. That clue points you to one of our blogs. Inside that blog, you will find the next clue, and so the trail continues.
Follow all four clues, find the final answer, submit it through our entry form, and you could win a stay at a Green Safaris property of your choice.
The prize is real. The trail is live. And the clues are not easy.
How to Enter

The trial runs for one month. A new clue drops every week. You do not need to enter in real time, but we recommend following along as the clues are revealed for the best chance of keeping up.
The Trail: A Peek at the Four Clues
We are not going to give you the answers. That would defeat the point. But here is a taste of where the trail is going.

The Prize: Win Your Place on the Trail
One winner. A stay at a Green Safaris property of their choice.
Whether that is waking up in a Nest above the Busanga Plains, watching the Zambezi roll past from Tongabezi, snorkelling in the clear waters of Lake Malawi at Kaya Mawa, or somewhere else entirely across our eight properties in Zambia and Malawi, the winner decides.

The trail takes you through four of our properties but Green Safaris is eight strong. Tongabezi Lodge and Sindabezi Island Camp on the Zambezi. Ila Safari Lodge and Chisa Busanga Camp in Kafue National Park. Shawa Luangwa Camp and Sausage Tree Camp and Potato Bush Camp in the Luangwa Valley. And Kaya Mawa on the shores of Lake Malawi.
Each one is different. Each one is somewhere worth tracking down.
Ten Years Wild
Green Safaris started with a belief that Africa’s wilderness is worth protecting, and that the best way to protect it is to love it deeply and share that love wisely. Ten years on, that has not changed.
Thank you to every guest who has followed their own trail to one of our camps. Thank you to the teams on the ground who make the extraordinary feel ordinary, every single day. And thank you for being part of this.

COMPETITION TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Follow the Trail: Green Safaris 10th Anniversary Competition
Promoter: Green Safaris
Competition period: 16 July 2026 and closes on 17 August

By entering the Follow the Trail competition (the Competition), entrants agree to be bound by these terms and conditions. Please read them carefully before entering.
1. The Promoter
1.1. The Competition is organised and run by Green Safaris (the Promoter).
1.2. For any queries relating to the Competition, entrants may contact the Promoter via the Green Safaris website at greensafaris.com.
2. Eligibility
2.1. The Competition is open to participants worldwide, subject to any local laws or restrictions that may apply in the entrant’s country of residence.
2.2. Entrants must be 18 years of age or older at the time of entry.
2.3. Employees, directors, agents, and immediate family members of Green Safaris, its affiliates, suppliers, and any parties connected with the administration of this Competition are not eligible to enter.
2.4. It is the entrant’s responsibility to ensure that their participation complies with applicable laws in their country of residence. The Promoter accepts no liability for entries that are void or prohibited under local law.
2.5. By entering, the entrant confirms that they meet the eligibility requirements set out in these terms and conditions.
3. Competition Period
3.1. The Competition opens on 16 July 2026 and closes on 17 August 2026 at 23:59 (CAT, Central Africa Time).
3.2. Entries received after the closing date and time will not be considered.
3.3. The Promoter reserves the right to extend, shorten, or cancel the Competition at any time, with reasonable notice provided to entrants where possible.
4. How to Enter
4.1. To enter the Competition, participants must:
a) Follow Green Safaris on Instagram (@greensafaris) and/or Facebook during the Competition period.
b) Follow the four weekly clues posted on Green Safaris’ Instagram and Facebook pages across the Competition period.
c) Read the corresponding Green Safaris blog posts, in which answers to the clues are embedded.
d) Submit the correct final answer via the official entry form, which will be made available in Week 4 of the Competition. Entrants must provide their full name and a valid email address at the time of submission.
4.2. Bonus entries: entrants may receive one additional entry by tagging a friend in the comments of any official Competition post on Instagram or Facebook. Only one bonus entry per person will be counted, regardless of the number of tags made.
4.3. Only one primary entry per person is permitted. Multiple submissions will be disqualified.
4.4. Entries must be submitted in English.
4.5. Incomplete, illegible, or incorrectly submitted entries will be void.
4.6. The Promoter is not responsible for entries that are lost, delayed, or not received due to technical failures or factors outside its control.
5. The Prize
5.1. One winner will receive a stay at a Green Safaris property of their choice (the Prize). The stay consists of 2 nights for 2 guests, subject to availability.
5.2. The Prize includes accommodation and meals as per the standard inclusion policy of the chosen property. It does not include international or domestic flights to or from the destination, transfers, travel insurance, visas, park fees, additional taxes, personal expenses, gratuities, or any activities not included in the standard property offering unless otherwise stated.
5.3. The Prize is subject to availability and must be redeemed by December 2027. Bookings are subject to the Green Safaris standard booking terms and conditions.
5.4. The Prize is non-transferable, non-refundable, and cannot be exchanged for cash or any alternative.
5.5. The Promoter reserves the right to substitute the Prize with an alternative of equal or greater value if the Prize becomes unavailable for reasons outside its control.
5.6. The winner is responsible for all costs and arrangements not explicitly included in the Prize, including but not limited to travel, visas, travel insurance, and personal expenses.
6. Winner Selection and Notification
6.1. The winner will be selected at random from all valid entries that submitted the correct final answer within the Competition period.
6.2. The draw will take place on or around 20 August 2026.
6.3. The winner will be notified via email using the address provided at the time of entry within a minimum of 5 days of the draw.
6.4. If the winner does not respond to the notification within 14 days of it being sent, the Promoter reserves the right to select an alternative winner.
6.5. The Promoter’s decision is final, and no correspondence will be entered into regarding the selection of the winner.
6.6. The winner may be announced on Green Safaris’ social media channels. By entering, entrants agree that their first name and country of residence may be shared in connection with this announcement, unless they notify the Promoter otherwise in writing.
7. Data Protection and Privacy
7.1. Personal information collected through this Competition (including name and email address) will be used solely for the purposes of administering the Competition, notifying the winner, and, where consent has been given, sending marketing communications from Green Safaris.
7.2. The Promoter will handle all personal data in accordance with applicable data protection legislation and its Privacy Policy, which can be found at greensafaris.com.
7.3. Entrants may withdraw their consent for marketing communications at any time by following the unsubscribe instructions in any email received from Green Safaris.
7.4. The Promoter will not share entrant data with third parties except where required for the administration of the Competition or where required by law.
8. Social Media
8.1. This Competition is in no way sponsored, endorsed, or administered by Instagram or Facebook. Entrants acknowledge that they are providing their information to Green Safaris and not to Meta Platforms, Inc. or its subsidiaries.
8.2. Any questions or complaints relating to the Competition must be directed to Green Safaris and not to Instagram or Facebook.
8.3. Entrants agree to comply with the applicable terms and conditions of Instagram and Facebook when participating in the Competition on those platforms.
9. General Conditions
9.1. The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify any entrant who it reasonably believes has acted fraudulently, dishonestly, or in breach of these terms and conditions.
9.2. The Promoter reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time. Any amendments will be communicated via the Green Safaris website and social media channels.
9.3. The Promoter accepts no liability for any loss, damage, or injury suffered by entrants in connection with the Competition or the Prize, except where such liability cannot be excluded by law.
9.4. The Competition and these terms and conditions are governed by the laws of Zambia. Any disputes arising in connection with the Competition shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Zambian courts, except where local mandatory consumer protection laws provide otherwise.
9.5. If any provision of these terms and conditions is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
