Green Safaris News: Specials, Openings & Incoming
Green Safaris | March 27, 2024
In line with our spirit for innovation, we’re always looking for ways to make you that much more excited for your next trip with us. Here are three things to look forward to:
1. The Early Bird Catches Chisa
Chisa Busanga Camp will be opening a month earlier this year, in May, due to easing rainfall.
One of our guides, Newton, confirmed the good news, saying “I’ve checked our game routes and they’re good to drive! We spotted Nara and Vega’s pride hunting lechwe near camp. There were seven lions in total.
“The bird life was mind-blowing (water birds are back breeding big numbers). The green grass has also attracted lots of hippos – from a distance, you might think they are buffalos grazing because the Plains were covered in hundreds of them.”
Visiting us in May presents a unique opportunity to witness this iconic destination during wet the season. This means seeing things like lechwes leaping over water or lions hunting in the shallows.
Here, you can stay in our iconic Nest accommodations, which mirror weaver birds’ creations. They are hidden away in the northern part of the Kafue National Park in Zambia, on the Busanga Plains.
This is one of the most untouched wilderness areas in Africa. Within its quietness, this wetland ecosystem bristles with diverse life that makes for a special safari experience.
In addition to unparalleled game viewing, you can look forward to private meals in the bush, walking safaris, e-Cruiser game drives, birding, and lounging poolside at camp.

2. Less Is Really More
We love to give back, so, until 20 June 2024, we’re offering you less 10% when booking at any of our camps and lodges. Our Opening Special is inclusive of accommodation, meals and game drives.
Enhance your adventure with our Wings & Wheels package. We’ve made it our mission to offer you a bundle of experiences all in one trip. With camps and lodges located throughout Zambia and into Malawi — each offering a unique experience and landscape — you have the option of squeezing the most out of your African adventure.
Before you dip out at the thought of all that admin, we’ve taken care of the planning and costs for you. This is because all final transfer flights and drives to, from, and between our lodges (for bookings of 4 nights or more) will be included in your Green Safaris experience. All you have to do is pick your favourite locations and leave the rest to us.

3. Easter Festivities
We’ve been working behind the scenes with the Easter Bunny to ensure that you and your family have a memorable getaway.
At Tongabezi Lodge and Sindabezi Island Camp, look forward to Easter egg painting and a super fun “dress the bunny” activity.
At Ila Safari Lodge, children are sure to have a ball while our expert guides take them on an adventure, learning how to track the Easter Bunny.

Wait, There’s More!
Some very exciting work is being done at our Sausage Tree and Potato Bush camps. Sustainably loading is a new deck, bar and boma area, a snazzy gym, room refurbishments, plus the introduction of e-Cruisers and e-Boats for silent safaris. Dates for this this are not yet confirmed, but the project is underway and more will follow soon!
