It’s straightforward – The Zambezi stretches 2,700 km across four different nations. Victoria Falls has more than 481,386 cubic meters of water gushing over its 1,708-meter-long and 108-meter-tall edge, where our guests swim and picnic above the waterfall on Livingstone Island. We’ve safely operated this for 30 years. And 34? That’s how long our wonderful Tongabezi and Sindabezi team has been warmly welcoming guests to their secluded home along the river, where the riverbank curves towards the sunset.

So why send your guests to either of our homes above the thunder? Both Tongabezi and Sindabezi are at the perfect distance from the falls, not too far for a quick trip to see the Mosi-Oa-Tunya, but far enough to enjoy the peaceful sounds of the river without the helicopters circling above. And, with Sindabezi’s new launch site – we bring our guests even closer to the falls.

Many of the delightful faces you’ll encounter with us have also attended the Tongabezi Trust School. With deep roots here, our team members are thrilled to share stories of Livingstone, Zambia, culture, and our home with your guests. And it’s not just your guest’s personal valet who loves sharing tales of our breezy Zambezi, it’s the entire team. Thanks to the gorgeous guests who visit us, we have friends around the globe.

“A memorable and amazing way to start our trip of a life time in Africa to celebrate a 70th Birthday. We were met at Livingstone airport by our Guide/Driver Captain Ronald whose experience, knowledge and friendship helped make our stay extra special. “Memory” (our Butler) with her beautiful smile and attention to detail always provided exceptional service. Our accommodation in Cottage 1 was unbelievable, we overlooked the Zambezi River with the resident Hippos just off the balcony.
Our highlights were: The Sunset Cruise including the Sand Bar cocktails, walking around/Helicopter flight at Victoria Falls, Sunrise and Luncheon Cruise, visiting the local village, visit to Mosi-Oa-Tunya National Park to see the White Rhinos, the delicious and beautifully presented meals. The last evening was made special by the staff presenting a cake and singing Happy Birthday. The lodge is to be highly commended on their efforts to be environmentally friendly. “Perfection on Sindabezi Island: I was lucky enough to spend my 40th birthday at Sindabezi last week. It is a little piece of heaven and like nothing I have experienced before. We loved the serenity and the beautiful environment. We were treated to amazing food and a level of hospitality that was unmatched. The chalet was perfection and complete luxury. The openness of the chalet reminds you that you are in nature in its most pure and untouched form. The sunrise and sunset cruises are a treat! A special thanks to Captain Ronald(his knowledge of the river and the wildlife in the area is beyond impressive), Nyambe, our amazing and most gracious butler, Chef Pearson, Lwembe and Memory for making the trip extra special. No detail is left to chance! I was treated to an amazing birthday dinner on the floating pontoon on the Zambezi River on the evening before we left.
