Run #KafueWild in Style!

Green Safaris | September 5, 2024

Athletes, dust off your tekkies (trainers/running shoes) because the annual #KafueWild Trail Run is hot on your heels.

On Saturday 21 September, runners and supporters will make way to Kafue National Park, home to Ila Safari Lodge and Chisa Busanga Camp, for a 10 km or 21 km race through this incredible wilderness area.

If that’s not enough of a challenge, several dedicated wildlife rangers will tackle the full 21 km half marathon while carrying a 22 kg (49 lb) backpack.

Beyond showcasing their remarkable fitness, this event is fundamentally about supporting the rangers who work tirelessly to protect Zambia’s wildlife and put a spotlight on one of the most incredible National Parks in Africa.

Every participant, with or without the extra backpack, contributes to this crucial cause and supports the vital work of these unsung heroes.

Team Work Makes Green Work

This event is the result of a collaborative effort between the Department of National Parks and Wildlife, African Parks, Kafue National Park, and the Wildlife Ranger Challenge.

We at Green Safaris are the incredibly proud Gold Sponsors of this year’s event and will have nine Green Team members participating on the day.

Post-Run Luxury Adventure

We look forward to welcoming all travellers coming through for the event at Ila Safari Lodge and at Chisa Busanga Camp, our Kafue National Park properties.

Nice to know: Ila has a generous infinity pool and Chisa has a plunge pool—both perfect for pre- and post-run soaks.

To enquire about our special rates during this event, plus an opportunity to extend your stay by three nights in one of the World’s most remote safari destinations, the Busanga Plains, please email reservations@greensafaris.com.

*Rates include all meals and one activity per day.

Wishing all participants a wildly successful run!
