The Elephant Charge: A 4×4 Adventure for Zambian Wildlife Conservation
Green Safaris | September 5, 2024
The Elephant Charge is an annual 4×4 adventure held in the Zambian wilderness, where 35 teams of cars and motorbikes tackle a challenging course across rugged terrain. This family-friendly event is designed to raise funds for conservation in Zambia, with a focus on conservation through education.
Our Green Safaris Conservation Foundation happily supports this initiative: The funds have been allocated to effective conservation organisations across the country, positively impacting:
- The expansion of protected areas
- Enhanced anti-poaching patrols and technology
- Community engagement programs fostering sustainable practices
- Wildlife monitoring and research for informed conservation strategies
All funds raised are given directly as grants to Zambian conservation organisations, including some of our existing conservation partners at Green Safaris, such as the Zambian Carnivore Programme, Conservation South Luangwa, Conservation Lower Zambezi and Project Luangwa.
The event’s operational costs are covered by sponsorships, such as those from our foundation, and the team entry fees. To participate, visit The Elephant Charge website.
To support The Elephant Charge year-round and without physical participation in the event, we’ve incorporated this remarkable organisation into our GSCF, allowing for valued donations throughout the year. To donate, please visit our Foundation website here and follow the prompts or email conservation@greensafaris.com.
